How many worthwhile skills do you master in 48 hours? Not many, right? Why should the running of your business be any different?

Does this sound familiar? Middle managers “Sheep Dipped”[1] through a 48 hour “certified” course, everyone’s got their certificate and now it’s time to deliver. And right there is where many Agile adoptions fail, before they’ve even got off the blocks.

Ring a bell? Take a look at our troubleshooting

It’s not about process, it’s about outcomes. The problem is that deep-rooted Lean Thinking is presented as subtle changes in project management. The reality is great teams deliver great value to customers. It’s all about the delivery.

It’s all about delivery

A broad view. We’re sceptical of “The Man of One Book”[2]. We don’t believe in “That’s not Scrum”[3]. We hold certifications in several approaches ranging from Scrum to PRINCE2. We look at the world without the chains of one method and we believe this puts us in the strongest position to give you balanced advice.

Build a culture of delivery. Our Lean Coaching helps you build lasting competency at all levels – not just management – and instil a culture of delivery in your team. Whether we’re attending your planning, stand ups, retrospectives or helping you overcome organisational obstacles, our coaching helps you:

  • Nip problems in the bud before they occur
  • Overcome the problems you’re already facing today
  • Build skills to overcome problems in the future

We’re not just coaches. We do this for real.

We deliver using these techniques. We’re not just coaches. We’re part of Lean delivery teams every day. We provide coaching on-site or remotely, either way you can rely on us to offer pragmatic support and advice at any time.

[1] By “Sheep Dip Training” we refer to 48 hour certified courses which give you a paint-by-numbers overview of Lean and Agile with limited to no understanding of the fundamentals.
[2] By “The Man of One Book” we refer to poorly executed and sometimes fanatical Agile `by-the-book adoptions`. These by-the-book adoptions can lead to substantial changes being made to organisations based on superficial understanding – derived from step-by-step process change defined in one textbook. That’s not a good idea.
[3] “That’s not Scrum” is often the retort of Scrum Professionals when presented with a dysfunction. We’ve had this thrown at us personally. Admirably, Scrum Professionals are trying to weed out root causes by getting people to stick to a `by the book` framework that is actually very good at weeding out issues in the early days. In reality forcing dysfunctional teams to paint-by-numbers instead of understanding core concepts does more harm than good.
